Euonymus fortunei 'Colorata'
Sun to Part Sun
Zone: 5 - 9
Height: 6-12"
'Colorata' is a broadleaf semi-evergreen woody groundcover, to 1' tall when not near a supportive structure. Prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial sun, and tolerates poor soils, heat, drought and shearing. Fall color is variable, becoming distinctly red-purple-bronzed. Flowers cream-yellow or lime-colored flowers bloom in June or July, but are usually not present or are ornamentally insignificant.
Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald Gaiety'
The variegated foliage of this compact, bushy, evergreen shrub looks particularly attractive in the winter garden. Glossy, bright green leaves with white margins.
Euonymus fortunei 'Kewensis'
Zone: 5 - 8
Height: 0-6"
Euonymus fortunei (wintercreeper euonymus) is a dense, woody-stemmed, broadleaf evergreen plant which comes in a variety of forms. Grow in average, medium wet, well-drained soils in sun to shade. It may be a trailing ground cover, a mounding shrub or a climbing vine. 'Kewensis' is a very low-growing, prostrate, trailing ground cover form which typically grows to only 1-3" tall and spreads indefinitely as a dense, sprawling mat. Somewhat similar in habit to English ivy in that it spreads along the ground, rooting as it goes, until it reaches a vertical surface which it may begin to climb. It features lustrous dark green leaves. Inconspicuous, greenish-white flowers may appear in June. Flowers are at best sparse, but are usually not present. If given support, 'Kewensis' will climb a wall or other structure in which form it is more likely to flower and fruit.
