The purple flowers are borne in spikes in mid to late summer. The plant forms mounds of long, narrow evergreen leaves. The plant can be grown in sun or shade and in any well-drained soil. It is often used as an edging plant or as a ground cover. Liriope can withstand some dryness.

This one runs so plant it where you want green mats of foliage. Large, lavender flower spikes bloom in late summer. This Liriope fills those spots where nothing else will grow. An excellent groundcover and accent grass. Nice between buildings and walkways.
